Functional Title: Adjunct Instructor
Division: Academic
Department: College of Collegiate Studies, Chemistry and Biochemistry
Reports To: Department Chair
Primary Function: Teach 1-4 physics laboratory sections

Major Duties:

  • Teach 1-4 physics laboratory sections as needed by the department.
  • Adhere to and enforce proper safety protocols required by the department.
  • Hold office hours and assist students as needed.
  • Prepare materials as needed for lab.
  • Grade lab reports.

  • Strong knowledge of spreadsheets.

Education and Experience:

  • A master’s degree in physics or a master’s degree in a closely related field and at least 18 graduate hours in physics is required.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee will be required to do the following:

  • Walk a long distance around campus and in buildings.
  • Required to regularly sit and stand.
  • Frequently use wrist, hands and/or fingers to make small repetitive movements such as typing, distributing mail and picking up small objects.
  • Ability to talk frequently to convey detailed and/or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly or quickly.
  • Be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive verbal information.
  • Required to lift packages and/or move heavy objects, 50+lbs.
