Primary Function: History Faculty

Major Duties:  

The Department of Humanities offers a B.A. degree and a minor in history. The duties of this position include:

  • Teaching upper and lower level history courses especially U.S. History I and II general survey courses and early colonial history;
  • Advising and mentoring students;
  • Serving on Humanities and University committees;
  • Teaching a twelve hour course load per semester;
  • Maintain a total of at least ten office hours per week; and
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of a Master’s degree in history, Ph.D. preferred, teaching experience a plus.

Physical Requirements: 

While Performing the essential duties of this job, the employee will be required to do the following:

  • Walk a long distance around campus and in buildings.
  • Required to regularly sit and stand.
  • Frequently use wrist, hands and/or fingers to make small repetitive movements.
  • Ability to talk frequently to convey detailed and/or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly or quickly.
