Functional Title:  Digital Media Producer and Photographer

Primary Function: Create digital content and photography for marketing the university 

Essential Function: Create video messaging and photography to assist the university in reaching its marketing goal to increase brand awareness and tell the LCU story more broadly and deeply. 

Major Duties:

  • Conceptualize video and audio projects used to advertise and promote Lubbock Christian University. This includes script composition, storyboarding, or providing story outlines from which scripts can be written 
  • Coordinate all university photographic needs to be used in marketing and for historical purposes.
  • Pitch creative concepts to campus clients and dialogue with them to discern the best way to communicate their message
  • Coordinate all aspects of video and audio projects, including scheduling talent, assembling proper equipment and assistants if needed, directing and filming
  • Edit/animate and assemble final visual or audio material for the university; ensure consistency and relevancy to production; monitor technical quality of end product
  • Deliver and distribute digital media content to various sources including web and broadcast. Monitor and keep digital media current in all markets identifying new creative trends to keep the university on pace in a competitive market
  • Ensure all photographic and video projects and data are filed for easy access and stored for safe retrieval
  • Oversee the security, operation and maintenance of equipment utilized in video and photographic shooting, editing and recording. Test all equipment to determine technical quality of recording, audio, and lighting approaches prior to operation in the field
  • Excel at working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines

Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior video and editing software skills (i.e. Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Demonstrated skill in capturing engaging photography
  • Demonstrated talent for high caliber creative concepting and writing
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to pay close attention to detail
  • Ability to work well on a team as well as independently
  • Demonstrated aptitude for learning new techniques and technologies
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Willingness to maintain a flexible work schedule to accommodate evening and weekend events and travel to on-site locations for photography and image capture

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, certification or equivalent work experience in digital video production, advertising or a related field
  • Three years of experience in video/audio production - preferred
  • Demonstrated writing ability and experience writing scripts
  • Proficiency in video compression and codecs, DVD recorders and video capture equipment

While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee will be required to do the following:

  • Be ambulatory around campus and in buildings
  • Required to regularly sit and stand
  • Frequently use wrist, hands and/or fingers to make small repetitive movements such as typing, distributing mail and picking up small objects
  • Ability to talk frequently to convey detailed and/or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly or quickly • Be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive verbal information
