Functional Title: Maintenance Technician
Classification: Hourly - Non-Exempt
Division: Facilities Department: Maintenance
Reports To: Director of Maintenance 
Primary Function: Painting, Locksmith duties and maintenance of interior and exterior systems.

Major Duties:

  • Assists in completing work orders of various types including, but not limited to: electrical, plumbing, flooring, drywall, painting, appliances and make-readies.
  • Assists in the preventative maintenance and general repairs of the buildings’ exterior and interior systems
  • Responsible for being On-Call for emergency work orders and lock-outs
  • Assists in snow/ice removal (where applicable)
  • Assists in completing Monthly Facilities Plan tasks
  • Assists daily in picking up trash on the grounds
  • Attend all mandatory employee staff meetings and company safety meetings/webinars
  • Understand and follow all safety protocols including understanding OSHA regulations and MSDS on use of chemicals
  • Report any observed violations of property rules and regulations to Maintenance Supervisor/Manager and/or General Manager
  • Responsible for understanding and following the LCU key policy

Education and Experience:

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent.
  • One to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Painting, Locksmith, flooring, and acoustical tile experience

Physical Requirements:

While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee will be required to do the following:

  • Be ambulatory around campus and in buildings.
  • Required to regularly sit and stand.
  • Frequently use wrist, hands and/or fingers to make small repetitive movements such as typing, distributing mail and picking up small objects.
  • Ability to talk frequently to convey detailed and/or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly or quickly.
  • Be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive verbal information.
  • Required to lift packages and/or move heavy objects, 50+lbs.
