Dr. Michelle Kraft will be honored on March 9 as one of the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) of Lubbock “Women of Excellence 2017” winners, along with seven other women honored in various categories.
Kraft will receive the award in the art category for people in the region who are making a difference in the arts.
The YWCA website explained: “Since 1989, Women of Excellence award recipients have been inspiring others in Lubbock not only with their professional achievements but also with the work they do for others. By promoting women as leaders in Lubbock, the YWCA strives to empower women and their families in order to establish strong role models for future generations of young women.”
Women of Excellence is an annual project for the YWCA to recognize hard-working women in the local Lubbock community. According to the YWCA website, the YWCA has honored over 220 excellent women over the past 28 years. The 29th annual event will be March 9 at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center.
