Lady Chap Softball Pitcher Named to D2CCA All-Region

Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparral Katera Eltsosie was honored for her outstanding play on the softball diamond, as members of the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-South Central Region teams were announced Monday. Eltsosie is a Second Team selection and a two-time member after being a First Team selection in 2016.

This season, the redshirt-senior from Albuquerque, New Mexico, Katera led the Lady Chaps with 21 wins and a 2.04 earned run average. Eltsosie was a three-time First-Team All-Heartland Conference selection and First-Team All-Conference in the Sooner Athletic Conference her Freshman year, making her the first Lady Chap to be First-Team All-Conference all four active seasons. Katera was the Conference Pitcher of the Year and Conference Freshman of the Year in the Sooner Athletic Conference in 2013, resulting in NAIA All-American accolades.

In her career with the LCU, she has become the winningest pitcher in a Lady Chap uniform with 91 wins and the fourth best earned runs average of any Lady Chap with a 2.15. Katera also has a program best in saves (13), innings pitched (705.2) and strikeouts (612). More impressively, she also ranks with the ninth best overall career batting average (.409) in 131 games with 105 RBI's and 21 home runs.
