Lubbock Christian University was featured on The Chronicle of Higher Education’s list of Great Colleges to Work For (GCWF) in 2016. LCU was also named to the Honor Roll of recognized institutions.
“This recognition from the Chronicle of Higher Education confirms what those of us at Lubbock Christian University already know—this is a great place to work,” said President Tim Perrin. “We are blessed with a vitally important mission, a bold vision for our future, and extraordinary colleagues who seek to live out LCU’s values each and every day. It’s another great day to be a Chap!”
The GCWF program annually conducts surveys to determine essential qualities of a college workspace. In this, its ninth year, the program surveyed 281 institutions – 93 of which received recognition in one or more categories and 42 of which made the honor roll.
LCU was recognized in nine of the 12 categories the GCWF acknowledges:
- Collaborative Governance
- Confidence in Senior Leadership
- Job Satisfaction
- Professional/Career Development
- Respect and Appreciation
- Supervisor/Department Chair Relationship
- Teaching Environment (Faculty)
- Tenure Clarity & Process (Faculty)
- Work/Life Balance
“My favorite thing about this place is the people and the environment that is created because of the love that is shown here. It is such an uplifting and encouraging atmosphere where talents can be nurtured, challenged, and developed for the betterment of the community,” said Kecia Jackson, Assistant Dean of Students.
LCU continues to devote itself to transforming lives and continually improving as an institution for faculty, staff, and students alike to work and learn. To read more on the GCWF process, click here.
