On Sept. 21, a reception in the Caldwell Welcome Center greeted Marcelino Banda (’99) as a new member of the Lubbock Christian University Board of Trustees. Banda currently serves as a minister at the Lubbock Bilingual Church of Christ.
Banda graduated from LCU in 1999 with a bachelor’s in Bible, then again in 2002 with a master’s in Bible. He is married to Orfila, and the two have three daughters, all of whom graduated from LCU. In addition to his education, Banda received the K.C. Moser Alumni Award in 2012. The K. C. Moser Award is given to deserving members of the alumni community for significant contributions to the church and to ministry.
"I'm thrilled that Marcelino Banda has joined the LCU Board of Trustees," said LCU President Tim Perrin. "Marcelino brings to this new role a deep understanding of LCU and her mission of changing lives. Our future is bright!"
