A generous gift from First Bank & Trust will support Lubbock Christian University’s Chaps and Lady Chaps teams and was announced at a lunch Wednesday in the Rip Griffin Center.
The support from First Bank & Trust will allow LCU to enhance athletic facilities, expand athletic training space, and advance athletic department strategic priorities.
“We are deeply grateful to First Bank & Trust for their significant investment in LCU athletics,” said President Tim Perrin. “As we continue our efforts to sustain a model NCAA Division II program, the support of our community partners like First Bank & Trust is critically important. We greatly appreciate Barry Orr and his team for all of the ways they support our student athletes. It’s a great day to be a Chap!”
First Bank & Trust have been long-time friends and supporters of the university. In the fall of 2016, they took a lead role in a new initiative titled, “LCU Community Partners.”
This initiative allows businesses to co-brand their organization with LCU, receive regalia for display at their businesses to show their affiliation with LCU, and receive earlier information about events and programs as well as sponsorship opportunities.
As part of the five-year commitment from First Bank &Trust, their logo has been added to the floor of the Rip Griffin Center.
“Partnerships like the one we have with First Bank & Trust allows Lubbock Christian University athletics to compete at an elite level and provides our student-athletes the opportunity to live out their faith in Jesus Christ,” said Raymond Richardson, vice president for university advancement.
