In-season basketball practices don’t begin until Oct. 15 for men’s and women’s teams in NCAA Div. II, but fans are already counting down the days.
Monday night, Lubbock Christian University held Midnight Madness, a night of festivities to hype the campus in the days before official basketball practices begin.
The event was hosted inside LCU's Rip Griffin Center at 10:00 p.m. with free food catered by Buffalo Wild Wings. At 10:30 p.m., the LCU men's and women's basketball teams were introduced by emcee Josh Dansby. After welcoming the teams, the LCU student body along with the men and women's basketball programs competed in 10 games lasting until 12 a.m., including BINGO, knockout, and a player vs. student dance competition.
This year marked the fourth time that Lubbock Christian Athletics hosted Midnight Madness.
