Despite frigid temperatures, hundreds from the Lubbock community joined Lubbock Christian University for its Second Annual Big Blue Family Christmas on Monday, Dec. 1.
Families enjoyed a Christmas dinner followed by crafts, hot chocolate, and roasting s’mores by fire pits that lined the sidewalks, complete with snowfall from a snow machine.
Children happily waved at Anna and Olaf as they lined up to take pictures with the Frozen characters. Elsa even made an appearance in the mall area.
Santa Claus and The Grinch also joined the event and took time to pose for photos with the attending families.
The fun continued with live music from LCU’s symphonic band, Forte, and praise choir. Carols were sung as President Tim Perrin addressed the crowd and began the countdown for the lighting of the Chap and the Christmas tree.
The night wrapped up with a showing of Disney’s Frozen in the McDonald Moody Auditorium.
LCU’s Big Blue Family Christmas couldn’t have been a success without the countless hours and planning put in by LCU MarCom Office Administrator and Assistant Director of Summer Camps, Terri Warren. Terri, along with the help of students and colleagues, created a wonderful atmosphere enjoyed by all.
