Church leaders on the South Plains have the opportunity to be equipped and encouraged at ElderLink, hosted by Lubbock Christian University and Abilene Christian University on March 1 at the South Plains Church of Christ in Lubbock.
ElderLink is a one day seminar for leaders in Churches of Christ, which includes elders, deacons, ministers and spouses. The theme for this year’s seminar is Church Next. The seminar focuses on a number of challenges the church faces in today’s culture as it seeks to be faithful in bearing witness to the gospel.
Guests will hear two plenary speakers, Lipscomb’s Baxter Chair of Preaching Ken Durham, and ACU Biblical Studies Professor Randy Harris. Breakout speakers for ElderLink are David Langford, Minister and Elder of the Quaker Avenue Church of Christ in Lubbock; Royce Money, ACU’s Chancellor and Executive Director of the Siburt Institute for Church Ministry; and Jeff Cary, LCU’s Associate Professor of Theology.
LCU’s Associate Professor of Youth and Family Ministry, Dr. Steve Bonner serves as co-director of ElderLink. “For many years, the ElderLink seminar has provided excellent insight and valuable instruction to leaders serving the church. Enabled by the partnership between LCU and ACU, this valuable resource is now available for those serving on the South Plains.”
