If you are looking for a flexible nursing program with a committed and caring faculty, you have come to the right place. While other nursing programs may offer flexibility, they won’t offer you the kind of one-to-one attention you will get at LCU. We intentionally structure our programs so that faculty members get to know you personally and are actively involved in your professional and personal development. We believe that having strong faculty mentoring relationships are the key to developing outstanding professionals.
Our department is committed to extending practical research in the field of nursing. Our faculty members work with students to conduct research and prepare professional presentations and papers. We have established the Nursing Center of Excellence is to promote student and alumni success through engagement in nursing research, utilization, and dissemination for the purpose of improving the health of the people of the south plains region. We want to make a difference in our community and world and we want to equip students to make a difference as well.
Our faculty members are dedicated to preparing graduates for the professional practice in a variety of health care settings within a culturally, racially, and ethnically diverse environment. Because of this commitment, we provide a variety of transcultural experiences to help you experience other cultures and populations. You will have the opportunity to work with the homeless and economically disadvantaged populations within the local community. If you are interested in international nursing experiences, you will have options to work in Europe, the Mediterranean, Kenya, Honduras, or in the Holy Lands.
