Jim Beck, Director of World Missions training. Greatest accomplishment - Marrying wife Phyllis and raising three awesome kids (Caleb 26, Nathan 24 and Lindsey 18).
Jim is a graduate of LCU with both bachelor's and master's degrees. He has been involved in African missions for past twenty-five years, having lived and worked among Giryama Tribe on the Coast of Kenya for ten years. Mr. Beck is fluent in venacular of Ki-Giryama. He planted and for 13 years has worked with Lubbock's inner-city church known as Carpenters (a ministry to modern day Lepers - drugs addicts, prostitutes, homeless). He is presently missions minister at the Monterey Church of Christ.
Teaching areas: Global and Domestic Missions, with special interest in Africa; Post-modern America and the missional church. Mr. Beck is active in church and mission consultation on the various subjects of missions, church planting, social justice and missions and navigating the waters of change in present day North America. He is also an endurance athlete who enjoys torturing his body in marathons and ultra-distance triathlons.
