Graduation Checklist

  • Turn in graduation application form to registrar by September 15 
  • Your regalia will be ordered when you turn in your graduation application.
  • Order graduation announcements on-line at www.balfour.com or by calling 1.877.225.3687. (optional)
  • Pick up graduation regalia from the Chap Store. Please check your emails and student announcements for when it is ready.
  • Attend the LCU graduation dinner hosted by Alumni Relations on October 21 at 5:30 p.m.
  • Attend the graduation reception the Friday night of Graduate Commencement and the night before Undergraduate Commencement.
  • Pick up a small gift at the reception or at the Alumni Relations office the following week.
  • Undergraduate candidates, attend graduation rehearsal 8:00 am the day of your graduation ceremony with your escort.
  • Graduate and be inducted into the LCU Alumni Connection! Become an LCU alum.
  • Remember to keep your contact information updated, which you can do here. ForeverBlue!

Application Process

  • Many of the graduates will receive their graduation application form from their advisor.
  • If you have not already received your form, print off this graduation application form.
  • Bring the form to your advisor to be signed.
  • Bring the form to the Registrar's office to be processed.
  • The application form includes your regalia order form.

Graduation Dinner

President Perrin and the Office of Alumni Relations welcome you to join us at a graduate dinner hosted in your honor. Listen to post-graduation experiences of selected alumni panel members.

Attire for the evening is business professional. Dinner is complimentary for graduates and guests are welcome at the cost of $20 per person, payable at the door by cash or check.

Graduate Reception

December 8 at 6:00 p.m. in the Baker Conference Center; RSVP required

Enjoy an hour with Faculty, Graduates, and Graduate families before graduation. The graduate reception was designed to be a relaxing moment between the rigors of finals and the ceremony of commencement. Hors d'oeuvres will be served.

Three tickets are given for the graduate and two guests. Additional tickets may be purchased for $5 each. RSVP here or by emailing Shannon Sudduth at Shannon.Sudduth@LCU.edu.

Graduate Commencement Ceremony

Master's graduates need to arrive at the American Heritage Building at 7 pm on Friday.

  • Deans will check you in at the AH lobby beginning at 7 pm. Be ON TIME.
  • Graduates need to wear dark shoes.
  • Graduation regalia can be brought with you to the reception directly before rehearsal. There will be racks to hang regalia on during the reception.
  • Please leave personal belongings with your family and friends before coming to the McDonald Moody Auditorium.
  • Female Candidates: The cap is to fit down on the head with the point of the cap on the middle of the forehead. Caps should not be folded under and pinned on.
  • Male Candidates: During the Commencement Service, please remove your caps during the prayers and singing of the Alma Mater.
  • Mater's graduates do not have an escort and will carry their own hood.

Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony

Undergraduate graduates need to arrive at the RIP Griffin Center at 8 am on Saturday.

  • Attend the rehearsal ON TIME dressed in your graduation regalia with your escort who should also arrive wearing their gown.
  • Graduates need to wear dark shoes.
  • Your escort needs to wear their white gown.
  • There will be very little time between rehearsal and the commencement ceremony, so be sure to eat a good breakfast before rehearsal and come prepared with everything you need.
  • Your escort will sit directly behind you and hood you at the proper time during the commencement ceremony. They will also carry your hood into the ceremony.
  • Female Candidates: The cap is to fit down on the head with the point of the cap on the middle of the forehead. No caps are to be folded under and pinned on. We realize this makes for difficulty with some hairstyles, but we want all candidates to look uniform. Please wear dark shoes. No corsages or jewelry should be pinned on the gown.
  • Male Candidates: During the Commencement Service, please remove your caps during the prayers and singing of the Alma Mater. Please wear dark shoes.
