School of Education:
The LCU School of Education offers bachelor’s degrees in Elementary, Middle School, and Secondary Education, and master’s degrees in Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, and Special Education. Our graduates are highly sought after in public and private K-12 programs. Our undergraduates completing degrees in education consistently achieve a placement rate exceeding 95%, while one out of every three academic leaders in Region 17, a 20-county area composed of 57 public school districts surrounding Lubbock, have completed their graduate education at LCU. The LCU School of Education is accredited by the Texas Education Agency Educator Certification and Standards.
The School of Education seeks a highly qualified educator/scholar to contribute to continuing excellence in our undergraduate and graduate education programs. The successful candidate will have the capability and desire to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in elementary education. The LCU School of Education seeks faculty who can contribute to the mission of preparing creative and innovative professional educators with high moral and ethical standards who view themselves as agents of change and who are committed to the welfare of all learners and have the understandings, attitudes, and skills necessary for effective teaching.
An earned doctorate in education is required. Persons with a master’s degree who are committed to pursuing a doctorate in education may be considered; however, the person will not become tenure-track eligible until completion of the doctorate. A minimum five years of certified teaching experience in public and/or private elementary schools, a valid teacher certificate, and strong leadership experiences are expected. All qualified applicants must be a professing Christian and active church member willing to support the Christian mission and purpose of the university. Preference granted to active members in the Church of Christ.
Applicants must be committed to undergraduate and graduate education and show promise of becoming an exceptional teacher who values mentoring and advising students. A normal teaching load is twelve-hours per semester. Scholarly activity, service, and other duties as assigned are also expected of the successful applicant.

Lubbock Christian University is a private, masters-level university as classified by the Carnegie Foundation. Founded in 1957 and located in Lubbock, Texas, LCU is affiliated with the Churches of Christ. LCU is accredited by the Southern Association of Schools and Colleges Commission on Colleges and is a member of the Council of Christian Colleges and Universities. Currently, 85 full-time faculty members serve approximately 1560 undergraduate and graduate students on the LCU campus located in west Lubbock.
