Position:

Instructor of Accounting, non-tenure-track, nine-month appointment (with potential summer employment) School of Business:

The School of Business is the largest undergraduate academic unit at Lubbock Christian University with approximately 275 students, offering Bachelor’s degrees in the following majors: Accounting, Finance, Economics, Information Systems and Technology, Management Information Systems, Digital Media Arts and Business Administration (emphases in Management, Marketing, Agribusiness and Business Administration). Additionally, the School of Business offers a Master of Accounting (MAcc). In 2020 the LCU School of Business was granted accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

Qualifications:

The School of Business seeks a highly qualified educator/scholar to contribute to continued excellence in our undergraduate accounting program. The LCU School of Business seeks faculty who can contribute to the mission of preparing students for their calling as Christ-centered business professionals, fully equipped for lives of Christian service and leadership.

Master’s degree in Accounting is required. Candidates who are currently pursuing a doctorate are preferred. A current CPA license in good standing is required. Excellent communication skills are expected. All qualified applicants must be professing Christians and be active, faithful members of a congregation of the Churches of Christ and be willing to support the Christian mission and purpose of the university.

Major Responsibilities:

Applicants must be committed to undergraduate and graduate education and show promise of becoming an exceptional teacher who values mentoring and advising students. A normal teaching load is twelve-hours per semester. Scholarly activity is encouraged. Service and other duties as assigned are also expected of the successful applicant.

Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits available include medical, dental, and vision insurance, 403-B retirement plan with a matching option, and tuition benefits for employees and dependents.

Lubbock Christian University is a private, masters-level university as classified by the Carnegie Foundation. Founded in 1957 and located in Lubbock, Texas, LCU is affiliated with the Churches of Christ. LCU is accredited by the Southern Association of Schools and Colleges Commission on Colleges and is a member of the Council of Christian Colleges and Universities. Currently, 88 full-time faculty members serve approximately 1750 undergraduate and graduate students on the LCU campus located in west Lubbock. Lubbock is a vibrant city with a population of about 250,000. Lubbock is the educational, medical, retail and entertainment center of the southern high plains of Texas.
