Position: Assistant or Associate Professor of Integrated Business Technology (IBT), tenure-track, nine-month appointment (with potential summer employment)

School of Business:

The LCU School of Business offers bachelor’s degrees in Accounting, Agribusiness, Economics, Finance, Marketing, and General Business. The Integrated Business Technologies programs offer bachelor’s degrees in Information Systems and Technology, Management of Information Systems, Web Design and Digital Media Applications. The School of Business is the largest academic area at LCU with 260+ students and is accredited by ACBSP.

Major Responsibilities:

Applicants must be committed to undergraduate education and show promise of becoming an exceptional teacher who values mentoring and advising students. A normal teaching load is twelve-hours per semester. Scholarly activity, service, and other responsibilities as assigned are also expected of the successful applicant.

In addition, successful applicants will be expected to:

  • Advise and mentor students
  • Work cooperatively with a small, dedicated, and close-knit faculty and staff
  • Participate in department class scheduling
  • Participate in program assessment
  • Participate in curriculum review and integration
  • Possess and exhibit qualities of professionalism, integrity, self-motivation

Qualifications:

An earned doctorate is required in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field. Persons without a doctorate but with relevant experience and willing to pursue a doctorate may be considered. A successful candidate will have prior teaching experience at an undergraduate level and be able to provide evidence of extensive experience in one or more of the following areas: information technology, computer science, networking, cybersecurity, database management, or game design. Additionally, proficiency in and professional experience working with at least one computer programming language is necessary.

Demonstrated competency with and experience working in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, web design, web programming (including back-end development) and game design is preferred. Professional certifications in these areas and related fields are considered a plus.
