Pre-Occupational Therapy

Pre-Occupational Therapy

Students preparing for a career in Occupational Therapy are considered to be on a Pre-Occupational Therapy path. In order to qualify for Occupational Therapy Programs, students must take necessary prerequisites for each school.

In order to practice in this field, individuals must obtain a Masters of Occupational Therapy (MOT) degree. This may require additional education and clinical experience, for more information contact HealthProfessions@LCU.edu.

What do Occupational Therapists do?

Occupational therapists (OTs) help people who have disabling conditions improve their ability to perform tasks in their daily living and working environments. Click here for a full description of what Occupational Therapists do.

What is the job outlook?

Employment growth for Occupational therapists is projected at 24 percent from 2016 to 2026, which is much faster than the average for all occupations. Occupational therapy will remain integral to the care and treatment for people with various illnesses and disabilities.
