The 14th Annual 24-Hour Reading Marathon and Writing Carnival, featuring The Princess Bride, will be on be held from Monday, September 15 through Tuesday, Sept. 19

Service Project:

Throughout September: "As You Wish" benefitting Children's Advocacy Center—Book and Stuffed Animal donations; bins in SUB, Library, Katie Rogers, Johnson Hall

The Princess Bride Movie Screenings:

  • Friday, Sept. 15 at 9:00 p.m.: Katie Rogers Dorm Parlor - Interactive (all students welcome)
  • Monday, Sept. 18 at 9:00 p.m.: lawn outside of SUB

Monday, September 18

  • 11 a.m. — Dr. Hawley's chapel presentations over The Princess Bride
  • 11:30 a.m. — 24-Hour Reading Marathon begins
    • Midnight reading by President McDowell
    • Live Coverage by Chap Radio
  • 8:45 p.m.  The Princess Bride Costume Contest in front of the SUB
  • 9:00 p.m. — Screening of The Princess Bride in front of the SUB
    • Intermission with movie-themed drinks and snacks

Tuesday, September 19

  • 11 a.m. — Dr. Hawley's chapel presentations over The Princess Bride
  • 11:30 a.m. — 24-Hour Reading Marathon concludes
  • 11:30 a.m. — Writing Carnival Begins
    • Carnival Food provided by LCU Dining Services
    • The Princess Bride and writing-themed games, trivia, contests, and more throughout the LCU Mall
