Best Friends

Best Friends 2019-20

Since 1983, Best Friends has been spreading the good news of Jesus Christ through song. BF performs a cappella arrangements of today's popular Contemporary Christian music as well as praise and worship.

The group travels to churches and schools letting potential students know about the educational opportunities at LCU. Best Friends serves as a praise team for youth rallies such as Soul Link and summer camps such as LCU's Encounter. In addition to the concert stage, ensemble members serve not only as worship leaders but mentors to youth groups at high school retreats.

This is my third year in Best Friends and I am so thankful that I have been able to be a part of this group. This ministry has made a huge impact on my time at LCU and my growth as an individual. I came to LCU because it felt like home and I am passionate about the community here. I stay involved through ensembles, classes, on-campus jobs and Honors, among other things! After graduating, I hope to attend PA school and then pursue a career as a Physician Assistant.

Voice Part: Soprano 1

I have always loved to sing. Best Friends has been the most challenging, but rewarding choral experience of my life. This has allowed me to worship in a whole new and wonderful way. Not only that, but it also allows me to help bring others the same experiences. Since being at LCU I have gotten involved in a lot of different things. I am currently a Chaplin in Christliche Damen, I am president of Alliance, I am a member of KPA honors society, I am in the Student Development Board, I work on the student activity committee, and I work as a RA for the girls dorms. My plan is to graduate in December of 2020 and get a masters in speech pathology. I am looking forward to that stage in life, but I’m also so thrilled to be where I am right now. God is so good.

Hannah Ward

Major: Biology (Pre-Med)
Hometown: San Angelo, TX
Voice Part: Alto

I have always loved to sing. There is a certain beauty that comes from people joining in song to glorify the God that created us. I love having the opportunity to join in with not only some of my closest friends, but also my brothers and sisters, and get to pour our hearts out to the Lord. I have never been a part of a group that sings in this way. It has been very challenging, but also has been more rewarding than words can express. I have loved my time here at LCU and can' t express the way this place has blessed my life. I have been able to become very involved on campus including Praise Choir, Christliche Damen, Pre-Health Club, and Best Friends. I am hoping to finish my degree and then attend Medical School to become a physician. I am interested in several fields including Endocrinology, Dermatology and Neonatology. However, I trust that God will lead me to whatever He wants me to do. Something I have learned to live by is that "Everything works out for the good of those that love the Lord." Romans 8:28

Voice Part: Alto

Lubbock Christian University has provided me with numerous opportunities for service and involvement. I enjoy dedicating my time to the Pre-Health Professional’s Club, Christliche Damen, and to Best Friends. After I complete my degree at LCU, I plan on obtaining a post-bacc degree in clinical lab sciences followed by medical school. Best Friends has become such a big part of not only my LCU journey, but my spiritual journey as well. One thing that I have learned throughout my time with Best Friends is how important it is to let God take the lead. On stage, I am simply a voice for Him to use to spread The message. This will be my fourth and final year with the group and I cannot wait to see what this year has in store!

This is my first year to be a part of Best Friends and I am so excited that I was given the opportunity to sing with this group of people. Singing is one of my favorite things to do, especially when I get to use my voice to praise God. I can’t wait to see what this experience brings me, and I can’t wait to see the encouragement that it brings to others through worship to God.

This is my first year in Best Friends and it has been such a blessing to have this incredible opportunity. Lubbock Christian University is constantly creating avenues for students to serve the Lord and Best Friends is my personal favorite! Being apart of a group that continually strives to make the most of every moment while glorifying God is a very special experience that I cherish greatly. I love spreading God's word through music and hope to continue to do it for the rest of my life.

The community at LCU has been a great blessing to me over the last couple of years, and I love the people and organizations I've gotten connected with here. This is my second year to be a part of Best Friends, and I really look forward to seeing what God has planned for us through the course of this year. I love music and I believe it's a powerful way to connect with people and break down barriers that are hard to overcome otherwise. Worshiping God through song with my friends in this group and all the people we meet as we travel has been and continues to be a true joy.

Logan Parks

This is my second year in Best Friends and I love to sing and travel with people I love. I really enjoy spreading the word of God through the songs we sing and love to minister to those who don't always have a chance to attend worship. I decided to attend LCU because it is where I felt most connected to the community, and the staff really care about your success and well-being. Once I graduate, I plan to pursue a career in game development and design.
