Profile Photo of Matt Bumstead

Matt Bumstead is a 1993 graduate of Davidson College and holds an M.B.A. from Texas Tech University. He has served as Dean of the School of Business since 2020. Matt has taught at LCU since 2016, when he was named CEO in Residence for the School of Business. Matt spent twenty years at United Supermarkets, where, as a fourth-generation member of family ownership, he served as Co-President and a member of the Board of Advisors. Matt teaches senior capstone and freshman introductory courses and developed Faith and Business, the signature experience of LCU’s Center for Faith and Business. Matt, his wife, Krista, and their three children worship at LakeRidge United Methodist Church.

Profile Photo of Russell Dabbs

A native of Dallas, Dr. Dabbs grew up in Wisconsin, graduating from Cudahy High School in 1981 and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1986.  He earned his master’s degree in economics from the University of North Texas in 1989, and his Ph.D.—also in economics—from The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 1996.  Dr. Dabbs was on the faculty of Louisiana State University at Alexandria from 1996 to 2001, where he also served as the chair for the Division of Business Administration from 1997 onward.  He joined LCU in 2001 as Associate Professor of Economics and Chair of the Department of Business Administration, rising to the rank of full professor in 2009, and taking on the role of chair for Academic Affairs for the LCU School of Business upon its creation in 2015.  He is married with one son in college and two troublesome dogs.

Profile Photo of Caren Fullerton

Dr. Fullerton holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural and Applied Economics from Texas Tech University with a minor in Management. Dr. Fullerton successfully defended her dissertation entitled, "A Simulation Analysis of Cotton Gin Financial Viability Under Risk" in December of 2009. Prior to coming to LCU, she worked in the commercial banking industry for many years supporting a diverse set of customers from a large supermarket chain, a significant hospital entity, and an oil company headquartered in Australia with a refinery off the coast of Papua, New Guinea.

Profile Photo of Nathan Richardson

Nathan Richardson was born and raised 30 miles south of San Antonio in Natalia, TX. After high school, he attended LCU and graduated with a BBA in Digital Media Arts and Marketing in 2014. Nathan later received a Master of Science degree in Graphics Information Technology from Arizona State University and is now pursuing a Ph.D. in Learning Technologies from the University of North Texas. He spent his early career in digital design and advertising roles with an emphasis on videography. Nathan then spent two years in Secondary Education before returning to LCU to teach in the Digital Media Applications, Information Systems and Technology, Management Information Systems, and Web Design programs.

Profile Photo of Joshua Sauerwein

Originally from Kansas, Dr. Josh Sauerwein, CPA has been teaching accounting since 2008.  He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Tabor College (KS), his Master’s from Emporia State University (KS), and his DBA (Accounting) from Anderson University (IN).  Josh was on the faculty of Bethel University (IN) from 2008 to 2012 and George Fox University from 2012 to 2020.  He joined LCU in 2020 as an Associate Professor of Accounting.  Before teaching, he worked as a controller, financial consultant, business valuation consultant, and an associate/executive pastor.  He is married to his beautiful wife, Michelle, and has amazing three children, Kai, Isaac, and Maycen.  When he isn't teaching, researching or visiting with students, he enjoys reading, fishing, hiking, camping and a good fall Saturday of BBQ and watching Kansas State University football.

Dr. Doug Darby has been with LCU since 2018. He is an assistant professor in the School of Business and coordinator for the Information Systems and Technology, Management Information Systems, and Digital Media Applications programs, and serves as the faculty advisor for the Chap Gaming Club. Dr. Darby earned his B.S. in Psychology in 1988 and M.S. in Digital Media in 2000, both from Abilene Christian University, and received his Ph.D. in Learning Technologies from the University of North Texas in 2018. His doctoral research and dissertation focused on the development of a taxonomy of online learner types in higher education, and his present research areas include gamification and immersive environments, applications of emerging technologies, online learning environments and learners types, and disruptive business technologies. Dr. Darby has over 30 years professional experience working in the technology and digital media industry.

Tracy Mack began teaching at LCU part-time in 1994 and full-time in 1996 Prior to teaching he was employed in Houston, Texas as a Treasury Analyst for Conoco Inc., providing financial support for international export sales and domestic sales of petroleum products. In addition Mr. Mack coordinated all LCU business Internships and served as the Faculty advisor for Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE).He has been married to his beautiful wife Nancy since 1991 and together they are the parents of three great children, Anna, Emma and Travis.

Profile Photo of Laci Richardson

Dr. Laci Richardson is a life-long Lubbock resident who began teaching accounting at LCU in 2017.  She received her Master of Science in Accounting in 1997 and her Certified Public Accountant license in 1998.  She worked in public accounting for twelve years and owned her own small business for seven years.  Dr. Richardson completed her PhD in Accounting in 2020 and is the Program Coordinator for the accounting program.  She is married to Raymond Richardson, who serves as a Vice President at LCU, and they have two children, Leah and Ryan.  Dr. Richardson is living out her calling at LCU by helping students to fall in love with Jesus, discover their own callings, and graduate as excellent accountants.

Profile Photo of Haley Burton

Dr. Haley Burton grew up in the Lubbock area and is a 2015 graduate of LCU with degrees in Accounting and Finance. Haley was a member of the women’s basketball team while at LCU from 2010 to 2015. After working at a local public accounting firm for the last five years, Haley returned to LCU in the Spring of 2020 to teach Finance for the School of Business. She received her M.S. in Finance and Economics from West Texas A&M University in 2019 and in 2023 completed her Ph.D  in Business Administration with a Specialization in Financial Management from National University. Haley is an active member at South Plains Church of Christ.

I am the Director of Development Communications at Texas Tech where I design brochures, signs and proposals for million dollar donors. I am also a free lance photographer and graphic artist. I was formally marketing director at LCU before moving to Texas Tech. I have been working with photography since 1984 and designing documents since 1989. I have a background in radio, television and newspaper advertising and broadcast.
