Dr. Kingston grew up in rural West Texas as an

that loved one another and

loved God. After graduating

from Fluvanna High

School, he enrolled in Texas

Technological College. While

at Texas Tech, Bill married

his high school sweetheart

Sammie, who has been the

love of his life and best

friend for 54 years.

Immediately after graduating from Texas Tech with a

Bachelor of Science degree, Bill received “greetings from

his friends and neighbors” and was enlisted into the

military services. He was trained as a medical corpsman

and served during the Vietnam War.

Dr. Kingston received his doctorate from Texas A&M

University and completed additional graduate studies at

Abilene Christian University, Sul Ross State University, and

Lamar University. He was a teacher, coach, principal, or a

superintendent in Texas public schools for more than 25

years.

After retiring from public schools, he served as Director

of Administrative Services for the Region 18 Education

Service Center in Midland, Texas. During this time,

he taught for one year as an adjunct professor in the

Superintendent Certification Program at Lubbock Christian

University before coming to the university to teach fulltime.

Dr. Kingston now serves as Director of Graduate

Education in the School of Education at LCU.

Bill and Sammie have three children and five wonderful

grandchildren.
