Prayer for Emotional Health: Cardwell Welcome Center

Father, may your peace blanket our world and in the hearts of your people. May there be a spirit of sharing rather than hoarding when resources are limited or scarce. May we hold out light in the darkness, and point those who are suffering from anxiety to your perfect peace. Give us boldness to introduce people to Christ the Rock in these uncertain times.

Lord, we are so grateful for all the people who continue to work each day in the service to the public. We ask that You bless and protect them as they serve the essential needs of people. Give them grace to handle disgruntled customers, and the shortened tempers of those feeling frightened and anxious. Keep their bodies healthy as they go about their work and provide protection from contracting the virus.

Prayer for Spiritual Health and Opportunities for the Gospel: Christian Development Center

Lord our God, we know that you use the dark valleys to turn people’s eyes and hearts towards you. Throughout scripture, you walked with your people through the wilderness, and we trust that you are walking alongside us now. As the very foundations of our society are being shaken, we pray that hearts will be softened towards you and that people will receive the good news of Jesus Christ. Thank you for loving us always, Father, and we pray for opportunities to share that same selfless love, grace, and mercy, and point to you for spiritual healing. Thank you for the harvest of hearts you are preparing right now, and give us the boldness to invite others to accept their place in your kingdom.

Prayer for Education System and Students: Maddox-Pugh Education Building

Dear Lord, our schools have closed in the face of this pandemic and we need your help to face the ensuing challenges. Lord, be with the educators who suddenly find themselves conducting virtual classrooms. Give them the resources, knowledge, and ability to adapt to this new platform of learning. Be with the students schooling from home—give them discipline, purpose, and motivation to continue their education. Father God, we also pray a special blessing on the parents of these students. Guide them through inevitable feelings of frustration, fill their mouths with kind words, and give them patience as they seek ways to encourage and inspire their children.

Prayer for First Responders and Medical Professionals: Talkington Center for Nursing Education

Lord Jesus, you know what it is like to walk among the sick to bring healing and comfort. We pray now for our healthcare workers and first responders as they tend to the burgeoning numbers who have contracted this terrible virus. Protect them from contagion as they work on the front lines to relieve symptoms and bring healing to patients. Renew their energy and sustain them as they work long shifts. Supply the tests, medications, and protective items needed so that they may do their jobs safely and effectively. Thank you, Jesus, for their compassionate and selfless hearts, and remind them that you are the ultimate source of healing, rest, replenishment, and hope in overwhelming times.
