Honoring the LCU Legends of Music

Dr. Wayne Hinds and Brother Cox

There will never be another Dr. Wayne Hinds or Brother Cox, but we are confident that their fingerprints exist all over the legacy of the Lubbock Christian University music programs. As we look ahead, we see a new facility named the Wayne and Yvonne Hinds Music Center that will be connected to the current McDonald Moody Auditorium. This facility features beautiful high arching windows, a spacious rehearsal hall, nine student practice rooms, and three faculty offices facing the LCU mall. This is so important because it gives our music programs space to grow, practice, and continue to be the heartbeat of the things that are good and precious at LCU. As you enter through the new atrium, the first thing you will see are two beautiful pictures of Wayne and Yvonne Hinds and Brother Charles and Sarah Cox, as we look to honor the enduring legacy of these modern pioneers.

This is possible only because of the foundation that was laid by the Hinds and Cox families. Our deepest gratitude to these families for allowing LCU to be in this moment of celebration. Please join LCU in telling the story of Wayne, Yvonne, Charles, and Sarah. As we look to finish the fundraising of this beautiful facility, our greatest ambassadors are our alumni and we look to you to help make a lasting impact on LCU’s future while honoring our past. This is a pillar of LCU’s founding and we all have the opportunity to make a difference.
