Looking Forward to Homecoming 2024

Homecoming 2024 is fast-approaching, bringing with it a schedule filled to the brim with events for alumni and friends across the LCU Community.

LCU’s Homecoming 2024 kicks off on Thursday evening, February 15, with Chap and Lady Chap basketball contests, and runs through Sunday, February 18 at venues across campus. “We have a homecoming full of events for everyone to enjoy,” shared Lisa Fraze, Director of Alumni and Community Relations. “One of our first big events features live music by Jason Nutt at LCU’s newest living space Gullo Hall for a homecoming reception on Friday evening.”

Another tradition that brings alumni back to their days at LCU each year takes place the next morning. “Alumni chapel on Saturday morning is always a special time, full of amazing singing and a great message,” shared Fraze. Later that evening, Brazos West Band featuring alums Gary Moyers, Arlan Privett, Tom Spoonts, and David Hooten will highlight the alumni reunion dinner. “We will be honoring the class of 1974 in a dinner Saturday evening for their 50th reunion,” Fraze added.

The weekend will also include numerous staples such as club breakfasts, art exhibits, departmental receptions and luncheons, athletic competitions, and much more. The full schedule is live on the LCU Alumni website. Many events require an RSVP, so be sure to make your plans and receive your personalized itinerary.

Master Follies 2024: Sing It Out will also headline the weekend as student hosts and hostesses entertain and student clubs compete for a number of prestigious awards. Tickets are still available for the three shows at 8 p.m. Friday night and 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday. Master Follies is once again made possible by the generosity Linda Gaither and Emily Ratcliff.

“There are so many other great events that include our athletics, academic departments, and social clubs,” Fraze added, “and we can’t wait for this weekend to get here to see everyone.”

“Homecoming is always the highlight of the year!” shared Raymond Richardson, Vice President of University Advancement. “The relationships that were formed and shaped as students at LCU grow year after year and homecoming is a reunion of decades of amazing friendships. May God always be praised for the relationships that are shared because of who He is in our lives and at this university!”
