PHP Programmer and Data Warehouse Administrator

Functional Title: PHP Programmer and Data Warehouse Administrator (with SQL, Data Warehouse, and API Integration Experience)

Primary Function: PHP Programmer with a strong background in SQL, data warehouse development, and API integration. Responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing applications and data solutions that support organizational objectives, while ensuring system reliability, scalability, and data integrity.

Essential Functions:

Oversees the creation of integrations, automations, and workflows to maintain and improve campus-wide efficiency. Assists various departments with CRM and ERP development, project management, and troubleshooting.

Major Duties:

  • Design, develop, and maintain PHP-based applications, tools, and services.
  • Write optimized SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts for reporting and analytics.
  • Support and enhance data warehouse structures for efficient data storage, retrieval, and transformation.
  • Develop and maintain RESTful and SOAP API integrations with internal and third-party systems.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and scalability across platforms.
  • Collaborate with front-end developers, data engineers, and business analysts to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of PHP applications and SQL queries.
  • Document technical specifications, processes, and system integrations.

Job Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Proven experience in PHP programming (5+ years preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL, or Oracle).
  • Experience in data warehouse concepts (ETL, star schema, fact/dimension tables).
  • Hands-on experience with API development and integration (REST, SOAP, JSON, XML).
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD workflows.
  • Knowledge of data modeling, data pipelines, and business intelligence tools is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Familiarity with Laravel, Symfony, or other PHP frameworks.
  • Knowledge of data visualization/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
  • Must have the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Education and Experience:

Minimum of bachelor’s degree or two (2) years-experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience that is directly related to the specified duties and responsibilities gained through increasingly responsible positions within technology services.  

Physical Requirements:

While performing the essential duties, the employee will be required to do the following:

  • Be ambulatory around campus and in buildings.
  • Required to regularly sit and stand.
  • Frequently use wrist, hands and/or fingers to make small repetitive movements such as typing, distributing mail and picking up small objects.
  • Ability to talk frequently to convey detailed and/or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly or quickly.
  • Be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive verbal information.
  • Required to lift packages and/or move heavy objects, 25+lbs.
