Functional Title: Registrar Specialist
Classification: Hourly Position – Non-exempt
Department: Office of the Registrar
Reports To: Registrar
Primary Function: Must be able to perform all general office functions and services of the office, including welcoming clients, enrolling students, preparing academic schedules, administrating academic plans.
Major Duties:
- Open and close office as necessary
- Welcome customers in person and on the phone and respond to electronic communications.
- Responsible for general office duties which includes enrolling students, preparing, communicating, and implementing academic policies, preparing, and communicating class schedules.
- Administrating academic plans
- Serve as backup to other office personnel as needed.
- Support internal and external clients in data collection and reporting.
- Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail Oriented
- Be a team player who proactively looks for ways to improve the effectiveness and student perception of the university and the office.
- Ability to help students, faculty, and staff in a professional manner.
- Must have competency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
- Must have competency in using tools to pull reports.
- Strong ability to multitask and problem solve.
- Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality is essential.
- Bilingual preferred; but not required.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee will be required to do the following:
- Be ambulatory around campus and in buildings.
- Required to regularly sit and stand.
- Frequently use wrist, hands and/or fingers to make small repetitive movements such as typing, distributing mail and picking up small objects.
- Ability to talk frequently to convey detailed and/or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly or quickly.
- Be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive verbal information.
- Required to lift packages and/or move heavy objects, 25+lbs.
