Registrar Specialist

Functional Title: Registrar Specialist
Classification: Hourly Position – Non-exempt
Department: Office of the Registrar
Reports To: Registrar
Primary Function: Must be able to perform all general office functions and services of the office, including welcoming clients, enrolling students, preparing academic schedules, administrating academic plans.

Major Duties:             

  • Open and close office as necessary
  • Welcome customers in person and on the phone and respond to electronic communications.
  • Responsible for general office duties which includes enrolling students, preparing, communicating, and implementing academic policies, preparing, and communicating class schedules.
  • Administrating academic plans
  • Serve as backup to other office personnel as needed.
  • Support internal and external clients in data collection and reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail Oriented
  • Be a team player who proactively looks for ways to improve the effectiveness and student perception of the university and the office.
  • Ability to help students, faculty, and staff in a professional manner.
  • Must have competency in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
  • Must have competency in using tools to pull reports.
  • Strong ability to multitask and problem solve.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality is essential.
  • Bilingual preferred; but not required.
 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee will be required to do the following:

  • Be ambulatory around campus and in buildings.
  • Required to regularly sit and stand.
  • Frequently use wrist, hands and/or fingers to make small repetitive movements such as typing, distributing mail and picking up small objects.
  • Ability to talk frequently to convey detailed and/or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly or quickly.
  • Be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive verbal information.
  • Required to lift packages and/or move heavy objects, 25+lbs.
