AVCA Recognizes Lady Chaps Volleyball With Academic Honor

The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) recognized the Lubbock Christian University volleyball program as a 2017 Team Academic Honor Roll recipient.

LCU's volleyball program produced a 3.64 GPA during the 2017-18 school campaign, which ranked second among the 11 LCU programs that turn in GPA reports into the NCAA. The Lady Chaparrals were one of 26 NCAA Division II teams recognized with Team Academic Honor Roll honors and one of 128 NCAA Division II programs to receive Team Academic Honors.

The honor marks the 10th time in program history in which the AVCA has recognized LCU with academic accolades. Since recognized at the NCAA Division II platform in 2014, the AVCA has recognized LCU in four of the prior five seasons.

The Lady Chaps open their 2018 season Aug. 24th in Canyon, Texas, facing Rockhurst at the Lady Buff Classic hosted by West Texas A&M. LCU's home opener is set for Sept. 6, hosting Southwestern Oklahoma State as part of the Chap Classic inside Rip Griffin Center.
