Lubbock Christian University is a special place in West Texas, and we want prospective students to experience it firsthand. There’s no substitute for a visit to LCU, and we’re so convinced you’ll love LCU as much as we do that we’re willing to put money on it. We will provide travel reimbursement of $100-350 for a new incoming freshman or transfer student who has applied to LCU and lives 150 or more miles from campus. How Do I Take Advantage of Destination LCU?

  1. Register for a Chap Preview Day or Big Blue Visit Day.
  2. If you can’t make a Chap Preview Day or Big Blue Visit Day, schedule your campus visit during one of our weekly campus visit options. Ask your Admissions Advisor if you qualify to be considered for an exemption.
  3. Make your travel arrangements and keep receipts. You may make your own arrangements and we’ll reimburse you. Make sure you keep all receipts related to the travel you’d like to have reimbursed.
  4. If you haven’t already applied to LCU, apply today.
  5. Attend Chap Preview Day or Big Blue Visit Day.
  6. Fill out a Reimbursement Form and follow instructions included on form.
  7. Receive a check. Checks usually take 2-4 weeks for processing and delivery.

Please note the following criteria for LCU Travel Reimbursement:

If you live 150-349 miles from LCU, you are eligible for up to $100 reimbursement in travel expenses. If you live 350 or more miles from LCU, you are eligible for up to $350 reimbursement in travel expenses. Reimbursement is available to new incoming freshmen and transfer students who have applied to LCU. Students may receive reimbursement for one campus visit on Chap Preview Day or Big Blue Visits Day. Visits other than Chap Preview Day and Big Blue Visit Days may be considered for approval by the Vice President of Enrollment Management or Director of Admissions. Students traveling from Alaska and Hawaii are eligible for additional reimbursement as determined by the Vice President of Enrollment Management or Director of Admissions. Eligible expenses include one standard hotel room for one night and economy travel by plane, bus, or car. Based on Google Maps data, travel by car mileage will be reimbursed at .40 per mile. Attach original itemized receipts to this form and make copies for your records. Recruited athletes at not eligible for the travel reimbursement program. Travel reimbursement funds are limited and area available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Deadlines:

To qualify for travel reimbursement, new first year students enrolling in the Fall term, visit must take place by August 1 of that year. For all new first year or transfer students enrolling in the Spring term, visit must take place before December 15. Application deadline is 12th class day of first semester enrolled.
