Lubbock Christian University hosted a new event called the All-Majors Career Fair, which will feature 58 employers, graduate schools, and non-profits to help equip students to secure their futures. The Career Fair was held on Feb. 8 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Rhodes Perrin Recreational Center to accommodate the visiting organizations. Each organization will offer a variety of opportunities for students, including full- or part-time jobs, internships, shadowing or observation positions, and volunteer options. Each gives students the chance to build their resumes and prepare for their futures. This was the biggest career fair at LCU in recent years and will welcome students of all majors and classifications. In past years, job fairs have been divided up into departmental focuses: sciences, education, business, etc. Ashton Darrow, Career Services Coordinator, wanted to create an event that would reach organizations and students who don’t fall under those specific departmental umbrellas. “These organizations come because they care about LCU students,” Darrow explained, “There’s not another chance for students like this, where an employer will to come seek them out and give them the chance to make a good impression. It’s an event every student should go to, even if they aren’t looking for a full-time job yet. They’ll still be interacting with employers and getting to know these organizations. And it’s good practice.” A list of the attending organizations is attached below. Career Services reminds students to dress to impress in either business casual or business professional attire.
