Chaps Athletics Announces 2016 Hall of Honor Induction Class and Jersey Retirement

The Lubbock Christian University Athletic Department has announced their 2016 induction class into the LCU Hall of Honor. The class has a basketball theme with inductees including women's basketball's Brittany, Jordan, and Nicole Hampton and Sierra Wilcox-Lovorn and men's basketball's Brandon Jones. In addition to the inductees, former Chaparrals men's basketball standout Rob Evans will have his number retired. "The LCU Athletic Department is excited about the Hall of Honor class of 2016," said Director of Athletics Paul Hise. "All five are former basketball players and all had a huge impact on the history of LCU Athletics. These five individuals not only finished their careers with great individual statistics and honors, but they also played roles on some great teams. All of them represented LCU well in the classroom, on the court, and in the community.” The inductions will take place during the LCU Hall of Honor Banquet on Sept. 24 at 6 p.m. inside the Baker Conference Center on the LCU campus. The 2016 induction class will place 63 individuals in LCU's Hall of Honor, which held its first induction in 1984 and also includes one team inducted. “We are looking forward to honoring each of them and their families in September,” explained Hise. “We are also excited about retiring the 'No.11' jersey of former Chap Rob Evans. His number will be the first basketball number ever retired by LCU and we look forward to honoring him."
