Coronation Opens Homecoming Weekend

Lubbock Christian University’s Homecoming weekend opened today with the coronation of the 2014 Homecoming King and Queen, Mr. Aaron Stephenson and Miss Brittney Warren.
Aaron is a senior Biology major from Lubbock, and the son of Dr. Kenneth and Jana Stephenson of Lubbock. He is a member of the LCU men’s basketball team and is president of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee. Aaron has been on the President’s and Dean’s list, nominated for Who’s Who, received NAIA academic all-conference, and won the Tyler Wilson Award for Orientation Leader. Aaron is a member of the Green Lawn Church of Christ university ministry. He will attend Rosenbergy School of Optometry beginning in fall 2014.
Brittney is a senior Children’s Ministry major from Lubbock. She is the daughter of Stephen and Terri Warren of Lubbock. Brittney is the president of the women’s social club Christliche Damen. She has been on the President’s and Dean’s list, won the K.C. Moser award, and was the recipient of the George Taylor Bible Scholarship and the Frazier Foundation Bible Scholarship. Brittney attends Monterey Church of Christ and is active in the college ministry. She plans on doing mission work after graduation.
Senior attendants for the Homecoming court are Mr. Caleb Blakeney, a Music Education Major from Bertram; Miss April Jimenez, an Exercise Science major from Anson; Mr. James Masterson, a Youth and Family Ministry major from Roswell, NM; and Miss Emily Mann, an Early Childhood Education major from Wolfforth.
Junior attendants are Mr. Matt Bruce, a Youth and Family Ministry major from China Spring, and Miss Hannah Sutton, a Missions major from Denver City. Sophomore attendants are Mr. Alvin Mainah, a Music Education major from Frisco, and Miss Abby Johnson, a Communications Design major from Farwell. Freshmen Homecoming attendants are Mr. Taylor Bonner, a Natural Resources and Conservation major from Lubbock, and Miss Kaitlyn Creel, a Middle School Education major from Wolfforth.
