The sixth annual Healthy Families Conference, hosted by the Bullard Institute for Strong Families, was held on Lubbock Christian University campus April 5 – 6 and featured keynote speaker Trevor Ragan.
During chapel and his keynote presentation, Ragan discussed this importance of a growth mindset and his work with the way those principles change and improve the way individuals learn and grow. LCU’s new quality enhancement program (QEP) focuses on how to foster growth mindset in the classroom and across campus.
This year, the Institute for Strong Families was endowed by a generous gift from Denny and Patti Bullard and was renamed the Bullard Institute for Strong Families.
In addition to the keynotes, breakout sessions, and networking opportunities at the two-day conference, which focuses on equipping professionals in counseling, social work, and education, the benefit dinner reached out to local churches who work with families regularly.
During the dinner, the Linda Cash Distinguished Service Award was given to its second recipient, Wendy Edwards. Named for long-time professor at LCU and the first recipient of the award, the Linda Cash Distinguished Service Award is given for demonstrating service in helping families.
