Lady Chaps Basketball Claim Top-Seed and Hosting Privileges for South Central Region Tournament

The No.2 Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals are making their second appearance in the NCAA Division II Women Basketball Championship after claiming a Heartland Conference Tournament title, and the NCAA announced during their selection show the Lady Chaps are serving as the top seed and hosting the South Central Region Championship Mar. 9 - 12 inside Rip Griffin Center.
 
The Lady Chaparrals are 28-1 and will put the nation's longest active home win streak (47 consecutive home wins) to the test as the top seed of the eight team regional field. Their first game is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday, Mar. 9 against eighth-seeded Tarleton State University. Also included in the field is two-seed West Texas A&M, three-seed Colorado State - Pueblo, four-seed Angelo State, five-seed Black Hills State, six-seed Metropolitan State University of Denver, and seven-seed Arkansas - Fort Smith.
 
The winner of the team tournament advances to the Elite Eight, scheduled for Mar. 19 - 23 in Sioux Falls, S.D. Here is a list of times for the South Central Region games:
