Lubbock Christian University’s (LCU) Accounting Department is offering cram courses for individual sections of the CPA exam. The next two offerings will focus on Business Environment and Concepts (BEC) and will take place on October 13-14 and November 10-11.
BEC is one section of the CPA exam that has traditionally had four distinct sections. Due to changes being made to the exam, December 15, 2023, is the last day BEC can be taken, and the exam changes will be effective January 1, 2024. So now is the time to take the BEC section of the exam before it’s no longer available. Participants in the course may choose to attend in person or by virtual livestream.
The course will be led by Dr. Laci Richardson, CPA, and Bill and Mildred Crozier Assistant Professor of Accounting at LCU. She shared, “We are offering two cram courses before the end of 2023 for the Business Environment and Concepts (BEC) section of the CPA Exam. This is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to pass this section before the exam changes in 2024! Passing BEC before 2024 is a great advantage because the exam candidate will not have to take one of the new sections of the exam. During the cram courses we will learn study tips, exam day strategies, and practice exam-type problems that are regularly seen in BEC.”
The two-day cram course will be held on the LCU campus in the Christa Dobbs Center for Business, Friday, October 13, from 1pm-5pm and Saturday, October 14, from 8am-5pm, and it will also be available via livestream for those not able to attend in person. The cost for the course is $300 for LCU alumni and $500 for non LCU alumni and includes a boxed lunch on Saturday. More instructions about what to bring and directions to the location of the course will be sent by email after registration.
Other upcoming cram courses being offered are Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR) February 2-3, 2024; Business Analysis and Reporting (BAR) April 19-20, 2024; Taxation and Regulation (REG) July 19-20, 2024; and Auditing and Attestation (AUD) October 18-19, 2024.
