Lubbock Christian University (LCU) hosted its annual Community Partners Appreciation Luncheon today in the Baker Conference Center on campus, recognizing outstanding partners and presenting its 2026 Community Partner awards. General Office Supply, Inc. was named the Community Partner of the Year, and Party Animal was named the Community Partner Newcomer of the Year.

These honors are part of LCU’s Community Partners program, an initiative designed to build and strengthen relationships between the university and local businesses. The program creates mutually beneficial partnerships that support participating businesses while also advancing LCU’s mission and endeavors. More than 100 businesses now participate, working alongside the university to enhance community engagement, support student success, and create opportunities for future collaboration.

General Office Supply, Inc., a locally owned office supply and workplace solutions company based in Amarillo that serves organizations throughout the region, including the Lubbock area, was recognized for its ongoing partnership with the university. Owners Daphne and Tim Cox said, “With our daughter attending LCU, becoming a Community Partner felt like a meaningful way to give back to the university while continuing to support businesses and organizations across the region.”

Party Animal, a Lubbock-based one-stop shop for party supplies, paper goods, home décor, and gifts founded by its sister company JD Harvey Designs, specializes in balloons, florals, backdrops, and event design. Owner J.D. Harvey said, “We are thrilled to be a part of this program! I am a born and raised Lubbock guy, and one of my favorite parts of owning companies here is getting involved within the community that raised me! When we were approached about this program, I was an instant yes! I admire LCU’s desire to get involved within the community. We have had the pleasure of meeting some wonderful people at LCU, and we are looking forward to getting involved further and integrating with all that LCU stands for!”

Ari Zamora, who works in LCU’s University Advancement Office with the Community Partners program, reflected, “Working with community partners is incredibly rewarding because of their generosity, dedication, and willingness to invest their time and resources in making a difference in the lives of others. Celebrating these partnerships is so special because it recognizes the meaningful impact they have and the lasting change they create in our community.”

LCU extends its sincere appreciation to all Community Partners for their continued investment in the university’s mission and their impact on students, faculty, and the broader community.
