LCU to Welcome Home Alumni for Homecoming Weekend

Lubbock Christian University is set to host Alumni from the past sixty years this weekend, including festivities that will highlight more than forty affinity groups showcasing the tremendous amount of student involvement at LCU.

“We always look forward to welcoming members of our LCU family back to campus for homecoming," said Sheila Dye, vice president of alumni relations. "This year is no exception. As our campus continues to change and grow and our students excel in undergraduate research and athletics, it is the perfect time to reconnect with other Chaps and recommit to the LCU experience.”

Amid the many events peppering the weekend, the LCU community is invited to attend a benefit dinner scheduled for Saturday evening to honor LCU’s Legends of Music—Dr. Wayne Hinds and Charles Cox. Both beloved choir directors served the university for decades, working side by side and touring with their respective choirs regionally, nationally, and internationally. Dr. Hinds directed the Acappella Chorus from 1957 until his retirement in 1997, and Charles Cox directed the Meistersinger Chorus from 1961 until his retirement in 1995. This dinner is to honor their memory and to unveil exciting plans for the facilities that are home to the LCU Music Department.

LCU’s homecoming weekend holds various traditions and events, giving alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends many opportunities to get involved.
