As announced by LCU provost Foy Mills in chapel on the first day of classes on Aug. 20, the 2018-2019 academic year is officially in session.
With the semester underway, there are a lot of events on campus to look forward to.
- Chap Nation LIVE will showcase the LCU sports teams for the upcoming athletics season. There will be food, fun, and season tickets available for purchase.
- The Christa Dobbs Center for Business Dedication will be at 11 a.m. Sept. 11 in the new building. Christa Dobbs is a prominent figure for LCU, and the new building is an exciting addition to campus.
- The Seventh Annual Lanier Theological Library Lecture will be Sept. 13 at 7 p.m. in the McDonald Moody Auditorium. The topic this year is "Searching for the Historical King David."
- The annual LCU Writing Carnival this year will feature the book "The Princess Bride" by William Goldman. The event will run from Sept. 16-18 and include a 24-hour reading marathon along with the carnival itself.
- The Athletics Hall of Honor will see new featured members being inducted on Sept. 22 at 6 p.m.
- The Moser Ministry Conference will be Sept. 30 to Oct. 1.
- The fall musical, "Barnum" will run Oct. 5 - 6 at 7:30 each night.
- The Betenbough Lectures and Internship Job Fair for ministers will be Nov. 8 - 9.
- Big Blue Christmas will be Nov. 27 at 5 p.m.
- Finals will begin Dec. 1.
- Commencements will be Dec. 7 for the graduate programs and Dec. 8 for the undergraduate programs.
