Dr. Steven Lemley, Lubbock Christian University’s (LCU) fourth president and beloved professor of communication, will be honored at a dinner celebrating his long career of service as he retires at the end of the spring 2023 semester.

Dr. Lemley announced his retirement from over 50 years in higher education during a very special chapel on March 23, during which he gave a stirring encouragement to the LCU community. His grandson, freshman student Tyler Cary, read announcements, his granddaughter, senior student Anna Cary, read scripture, and his son-in-law Dr. Jeff Cary, dean of LCU’s Alfred and Patricia Smith College of Biblical Studies, introduced him before his message.

A dinner will be held on Tuesday, April 18 from 7-9 p.m. in the Baker Conference Center to celebrate and honor Dr. Lemley’s long and esteemed career at LCU. Tickets are priced at $50 each, with all proceeds benefitting the Steven S. and Emily Lemley Endowed Scholarship.

Dr. Lemley’s chapel presentation is hosted for virtual viewing on the LCU Chapel Podcast.
