Minor in Bible Studies
This minor provides students with the opportunity to deepen their Bible study, teaching, and presentation skills.
In addition to Christian Life, Christian Heritage, and Introduction to Old or New Testament, students may also take:
- Upper-level Biblical text courses
- Biblical Greek or Hebrew courses
- Bible proclamation or a Bible teaching course
Minor in Children and Family Ministry
Students who pursue this minor learn about the spiritual formation of children, prepare Bible lessons, and learn to lead special events for children.
In addition to Christian Heritage, Introduction to Old Testament, and Introduction to New Testament, students will take three additional courses:
- Children’s Spiritual Formation
- Practice of Children and Family Ministry
- Methods of Children’s Spiritual Formation
Minor in Youth Ministry
Students pursuing a minor in youth ministry learn about youth spiritual formation, youth culture, and prepare for leadership in youth and family ministry.
In addition to Christian Heritage, Christian Life, Introduction to Old or New Testament, students also take:
- Foundations of Youth and Family Ministry
- Strategic Issues of Youth and Family Ministry
- Two additional courses in Youth and Family Ministry.
Minor in Christian History and Theology
This minor guides students in their study of the history and theology of the church.
In addition to Christian Heritage, Christian Life, Introduction to Old or New Testament, students take courses in:
- History of the Christian Tradition
- Theology
- Philosophy
Minor in Missions
Students interested in missional service take missions courses such as:
- Introduction to Missions
- Living Globally
- World Religions
Minor in Philosophy
Students seeking greater engagement with Western philosophy take courses such as:
- Introduction to Philosophy
- Ethics
- Selected classes in Art/English/Religion/Philosophy
Minor in Theology and Psychology
This minor allows students to gain basic exposure to both psychology and theology through coursework such as:
- Psychology of Diversity
- Introduction to Counseling Professions
- Christian History and Theology
- Spiritual Direction and Worship
