Biography

Mrs. Rogers has been in the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department at LCU since 2004. She is the lab supervisor along with her teaching position. Her passion is teaching and her area of research lies in improving chemical education. She has been writing and rewriting the lab manuals used in Introductory and General Chemistry in order to improve students’ critical thinking skills. She has a passion for chemical demonstrations and can often be seen blowing things up and breathing fire in her classes. She also teaches students to do chemical demonstrations to prepare them for lives as science communicators.

She is married to Toby, who she met while attending LCU as a student, and they have boys. They love camping in national and state parks especially. She loves hiking, photography, plants, cooking and running.
