Kara Becker

Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions

My name is Kara Stephenson and I’m a Lubbock Christian University Admissions Advisor. I love being an LCU Chaparral and am a proud alumna (2015). My family heritage with the University dates back three generations to the late 50’s and 60’s when my Grandpa attended as a student and taught as a professor. LCU is where I built lifelong relationships, traveled the world, grew spiritually, and received a valuable education based on learning from experience. I would love to talk to you more about this great institution and the ways it can change your life! Contact me with any questions you have.

Degree: Master of Arts in Organizational Communication

Hometown: Lubbock, Texas

Advice: My advice to incoming students is to get to know your professors. At LCU, the faculty and staff want to do everything in their power to walk with you in your development towards a bright, and successful future in the Lord. Be brave, speak up, ask questions, ask for help, and ask for encouragement! You never know the possibilities that will arise because you chose to invest time in relationships with mentors and friends.

Why I love being an LCU Chaparral: I love being a Chaparral because of the atmosphere of encouragement, success, and community. This is a place that wants to see its students, faculty, and staff thrive, grow, and succeed. It is a place that feels like home as well as new beginnings. It is a place where I found my confidence while being loved by friends, faculty, and staff. It is a place that cares who I am, whose I am, and where I am going! That is why I love being a Chap!
