I have been in Christian education since 1973 when I started first grade at Lubbock Christian School except for my two years at North Texas. I attended LCS from 1st grade until I graduated high school in 1985. I went across the street to Lubbock Christian College and graduated from Lubbock Christian University in 1989. I then dragged my wife, Kelly, to the University of North Texas in order for me to earn my masters in mathematics (I was planning on getting my doctorate from UNT but God had other plans, I would love to tell you that story, you only have to ask!) Upon graduation from North Texas, Baylor University hired me to teach freshman mathematics. I taught at Baylor from 1991 to 1993 until the position that I currently hold came open at LCU.

Kelly and I always knew that we wanted to come back to LCU. Lubbock is home for both of us and we wanted our kids to grow up around their grandparents and extended family. We have two sons both currently students at LCS. My family is deeply connected with LCU. My brother, Byron, teaches chemistry here; his wife, Karen, works in the business office; and mom, Barbara, is the administrative assistant to the Business Administration department. We currently have 18 alumni of Lubbock Christian University in our family.

When I am not in the classroom, doing what I believe I was created to do, teaching mathematics, you can usually find me at a sports event. My children love to play sports and my family loves to watch sports. I also enjoy video games, puzzles, and reading.
