Shawn Tyler, M.S.

Shawn Tyler and his wife, Linda, served as missionaries in Kenya and Uganda for 31 years and helped establish another mission outreach in South Sudan before coming to Lubbock Christian University in 2012. Currently, Shawn teaches Missional Engagement courses and Bible in the Bible Department and serves as Director of MissionLink, LCU’s Institute of Missional Engagement. Shawn coordinates and leads numerous missional engagements and regularly speaks on mission-related topics, including at the Abilene Christian University Summit and the International Conference on Missions in Lexington, Kentucky. He annually leads LCU students on short-term mission trips to Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

Shawn has served on several boards, including See Ministries, Namikango Mission in Malawi, and the Board of Trustees for LivingStone International University in Mbale, Uganda. Shawn preaches regularly and serves Quaker Avenue Church of Christ in Lubbock, Texas, as an elder and missionary in residence.
