Duncan is the seventh head coach in program history and he makes his LCU coaching debut in the 2011-2012 season after 15 seasons as the athletic director and head boy\'s basketball coach at Lubbock based Trinity Christian School, where he has been since the spring of 1996.� At Trinity Christian, Duncan led the Lions to eight Final Four appearances in the TAPPS State Tournament, including this past season, where the No.4 Lions finished the season with a 32-4 record.� Duncan, who completed his tenure at TCHS with just under 400 career wins, claimed a State Championship in 1999.
Duncan\'s playing career began at Coronado High School, where he graduated in 1985.� He began his college career at Midland College, where he played alongside Mookie Blaylock from 1985-1987.� Duncan still holds Midland College\'s single-season records for three-point shooting percentage (.584) and free-throw shooting (86.9%) from the 1986-87 season.� He returned home in 1987 transferring to Texas Tech University and suiting up with the Red Raiders from 1987-1989. His shooting percentages followed him to Texas Tech.� Duncan co-owns Tech\'s single-game mark for three-point shooting percentage (5-of-5, 100%) and is the Red Raiders career three-point shooting percentage leader with a career mark of .459 behind the arc.� Over his two seasons with the Red Raiders, Duncan knocked down 132 three-pointers, which ranks ninth all-time. �From the free-throw line, Duncan ranks sixth all-time in Tech history with an 86.7% career free-throw percentage.
He played in several pro leagues following his Tech tenure, including stops in the Global Basketball Association, with the Pensacola HotShots, and in the Chinese Professional League.� His trip to Taiwan has not been his only international tour.� Duncan has been very active with the Sports For Christ mission teams, combining basketball and ministry to Panama and Trinidad Tobago.� He has led students to seven missionary tours, including a recent trip to Panama.� He is also very instrumental in the Todd Duncan Basketball Camps, which he has conducted annually since 1989.� Duncan joins the LCU family with his wife Holly and their two children...daughter Ashton (11) and son Ethan (8).
