Veterans' Program

Veterans' Program

Lubbock Christian University welcomes veterans and is approved for the following VA educational benefits:

  • Chapter 30 – Montgomery GI Bill® – Active Duty: For individuals that entered the military on or after July 1, 1985, had their basic military pay reduce by $100 per month for the first 12 months and have an honorable discharge.
  • Chapter 31 – Vocational Rehabilitation: Provides training and rehabilitation for veterans with a service-connected disability with a rating of at least 20%.
  • Chapter 33 – Post 9/11 – GI Bill®: For individuals or a dependent/spouse of a service member who served 90 aggregate days of active duty service on or after 9-11-2001 and have an honorable discharge.) (May also be eligible for Yellow Ribbon Program (link to Yellow Ribbon program content)
  • Chapter 35 – Survivors/Dependents Education Assistance (DEA): For dependents (under age 26) or surviving spouse of a veteran who is 100% disabled or who has died from a service related injury or illness
  • Chapter 1606 – Montgomery GI Bill® – Selective Reserves: For individuals, who have enlisted, reenlisted or extended an enlistment in the Selective Reserves on or after July 1, 1985 and served for a period of not less than 6 years following the date of such action.
  • Hazelwood Act: Hazelwood is for public institutions only. As a private institution, Lubbock Christian University is not eligible to participate is this Texas program.

Depending on the program and eligibility, veterans may be eligible to receive a monthly allowance, tuition and fees, a housing stipend and/or book stipend from the Veterans Administration while attending college. Children of deceased veterans may be eligible for benefits. Applications for Veteran’s Education Benefits should be completed and submitted online via the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Lubbock Christian University does not, and has never, conducted fraudulent or aggressive recruiting on or off military installations or in any other venue, nor do we misrepresent ourselves, our programs, or our mission. Additionally, we do not pay incentive compensation to anyone for recruiting actions in compliance with section 487 (a)(20) of the Higher Education Act (HEA) which prohibits the University from providing incentive compensation to employees or third-party entities for their success in securing student enrollments or the awarding of Title IV Higher Education Act program funds.

Readmission: Military servicemembers and veterans who withdraw from the University for service in the Armed Forces, including National Guard and Reserves, are eligible for readmission to the same program or course of study if the circumstances of withdrawal meet the readmission requirements for servicemembers outlined in 34 C.F.R. 668.18
