Salvador Aguirre Endowed Scholarship

Salvador (Sal) Aguirre served the LCU community in his role as Director of Dining Service through the Aramark Corporation for over 18 years – from 2005 to 2023. When the name Sal is mentioned on the campus – former students and employees, as well as current students, faculty, and staff, know who is being referenced. Sal’s legacy at LCU will be marked by a student-first mindset, hospitality, joy, table fellowship, and friendship.

A near constant image for any student entering the Caf over the past 18 years has been Sal at the Caf entrance greeting them. This is where he found perspective in his vocation – and joy in his work. Street fair food for the Writing Carnival, Big Blue Christmas Dinner, Big Blue Summer Nights, and countless theme nights in the Caf are just a few of the things that stem from Sal’s collaborative and creative commitment to the LCU spirit. Sal has fed and provided table fellowship in the student experience for over 27% of LCU’s history. The university is indebted to for Salvador Aguirre and the faculty, staff, and students who know him ask for God’s amazing blessings in his future endeavors.

Contributing to the Salvador Aguirre Endowing Scholarship is a great way to honor Sal, his good work, and his care for the students of Lubbock Christian University.

Psalm 118:24 “This is the day the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it.”
