Functional Title: Admissions Advisor – Parent Engagement
Classification: Salary position - exempt

Primary Function: Parent Engagement

Major Duties:

  • Meet or exceed enrollment goals as set forth by the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Director of Undergraduate Admissions.
  • Responsible for being the primary point of contact with parents of prospective students as they help their student navigate the admission process.
  • Responsible for maintaining a daily high call volume to parents of prospective students.
  • Responsible for calling parents within 24 hours of students applying, to inform of next steps.
  • Responsible for calling parents within 24 hours of receipt of admission-related documents.
  • Responsible for communicating admission criteria and scholarship level(s).
  • Responsible for communicating basic FAFSA related information, important dates, and next steps.
  • Responsible for sending daily follow-up emails and texts to parents of prospective students.
  • Responsible for keeping meticulous records in the Admissions CRM.
  • Responsible for fielding frequently asked questions.
  • Meet weekly with the Director of Admissions and/or Vice President for Enrollment Management to provide in-depth reporting on progress toward goals.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of admission requirements and checklists, degree offerings, scholarship opportunities, and campus engagement opportunities.  
  • Provide campus tours.
  • Make presentations to small and large groups of parents and prospective students.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

  • Effectively organize and thoughtfully manage multiple priorities in a busy environment, to meet established deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively in the spirit of remarkable service with internal and external constituents.
  • Work closely with other university personnel to ensure acceptance of the best quality students.
  • Evening and weekend work required.
  • At the direction of the Director of Admissions, attend College Fairs and Parent nights. 

Preferred Experience:

  • Knowledge of admissions criteria and financial aid procedures is preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Physical Requirements: 

While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee will be required to do the following:

  • Must be ambulatory around campus and in buildings.
  • Required to regularly sit and stand.
  • Frequently use wrist, hands, and/or fingers to make small repetitive movements such as typing, distributing mail, and picking up small objects.
  • Ability to talk frequently to convey detailed and/or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive verbal information.
  • Required to lift packages and/or move heavy objects, 25+lbs.

NOTE: All LCU employees are required to complete Title IX & Information Security (FERPA) training and Data Security Training at the time of new hire and on an annual basis thereafter. Some positions/departments may require additional training for security or data needs.
