Primary Function: Recruiting students to Graduate Counseling Programs
MAJOR DUTIES:
The Department of Behavioral Science offers a Masters in Mental Health Counseling, with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, School Counseling, and Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy. The duties of this position include:
- On-site recruiting at local and regional schools, job fairs, research, or professional conferences.
- Attend necessary state conferences and meetings.
- Travel for recruiting events as needed.
- Build relationships with schools and regional mental health clinics and agencies.
- Mail out letters and literature to potential student requests.
- Answer phone, email, and on-line inquiries from potential students.
- Maintain Excel database on potential students.
- Compile program information packets.
- Order/maintains supply of Department brochures and recruiting supplies (pens, sticky notes, letter openers, etc.).
- Update sections of the Department of Behavioral Sciences Graduate Counseling webpages at LCU site.
- Promote Graduate Counseling programs through LCU.
- Student and employer relations.
- Requires strong computer and internet research skills as well as organization, confidentiality, excellent interpersonal skills, project coordination experience, and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, and social media platforms.
- Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and problem solve.

- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality is essential.
- Ability to drive.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree in a related discipline preferred.
- Significant sales experience preferred.
- Strong leadership experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee will be required to do the following:
- Must be ambulatory around campus and in buildings.
- Required to regularly sit and stand.
- Frequently use wrist, hands, and/or fingers to make small repetitive movements such as typing, distributing mail, and picking up small objects.
- Ability to talk frequently to convey detailed and/or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
- Be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive verbal information.
- Required to lift packages and/or move heavy objects, 25+lbs.
- Visual abilities are required to prepare or proof documents or operate basic office equipment.
